What is eMO!?

eMO! is a software application which enables Everbright Securities International ("EBSI") clients to trade Hong Kong securities, US shares and warrants as well as currency switching using their mobile devices. Clients can trade anywhere, anytime with the service via mobile data and WiFi networks.

What will I need in order to use Biometric Login?

To use Biometric Login, you will need to:

  • have a valid EBSI online trading account;
  • install eMO! on your mobile device;
  • activate the Touch ID/Face ID function on your mobile device and register at least one of your biometric to control access to your mobile device; and
  • comply with the eMO! Biometric Authentication Login Terms.

You may refer to Apple’s guidelines on enabling Touch ID or Face ID and registering biometrics on your device.

What are the system requirements for using Touch ID Login?

  • iPhone 6s or later, iPad (5th generation), iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, or iPad mini 3 or later
  • iOS 11.0 or above
  • Above devices with Touch ID enabled and fingerprint registered

To protect your account, Touch ID Login cannot be enabled on devices without security control (ie “jailbroken” or “rooted”). Please use eMO! on devices with factory-set configuration.

What is Touch ID / Face ID Login?

Touch ID is a fingerprint recognition feature designed and owned by Apple Inc. Touch ID allows you to use your fingerprint registered on your mobile device instead of Login ID and Password to securely login to eMO!.

Face ID is a face recognition feature designed and owned by Apple Inc. Face ID allows you to use your face registered on your mobile device instead of Login ID and Password to securely login to eMO!.

Can non-EBSI clients use eMO!?

Yes, both clients and non-clients of EBSI can use eMO!. But HK shares trading and its related functions are only available for EBSI clients.

What steps do I need to take to access my trading account with eMO!?

You can access your trading account on eMO! by completing the account activation and two-factor authentication registration. The account activation process can be done on the trading portals of EBSI (i.e. either www.ebshkfg.com or www.ebshkdirect.com). Once account activation and two-factor authentication registration are completed, you can have immediate access to your trading account via EBSI’s trading portals or eMO!

How to Disable Trading Password function?

Steps to activate the trading password disabling function: 1. Using the Two-factor authentication method to login to your account. Select “Disable Trading Password” at the account management menu. 2. Click the box and confirm. 3. The message “Trading Password is disabled” will pop up and you will be logged out of the system. An email and SMS will be sent to you about the change. The change will be effective when you login the next time.

Can I use Touch ID or Face ID Login on my Android devices?

No. Touch ID and Face ID Login are only available for particular Apple devices. You may refer to the system.

What if I have a trading account with EBSI but I cannot complete the account activation process?

How can I enable Biometric Login?

  1. Go to “Settings” after logging into eMO!.
  2. Enable Biometric Login”.
  3. Read and accept the Terms and Conditions regarding the use of Biometric Login.
  4. Enter the One-Time PIN (OTP) which is sent to your registered mobile phone via SMS.

After enabling the service, the next time you login to the app you will be able to log into eMO! using your biometric.

Do I need to register with eMO!?

You don’t need to register with eMO! no matter you are an existing EBSI client or not. You only need to complete account activation and two-factor authentication registration before you can have full access to eMO! services if you are our existing client. If you are not our existing client, you can still use various investment tools of eMO!.

How can I disable Biometric Login?

To disable Biometric Login, please go to “Settings” after logging into eMO!. Turn off “Biometric Login”.

Do I need a new login ID and password for eMO!?

You don’t need a new login ID and password for eMO! You can simply use your existing login ID and password

Why was my Biometric Login disabled automatically?

Biometric Login will be disabled automatically under any of the following circumstances:

  • The account is blocked due to repeated failed login attempts.
  • Biometric Login fail for 3 times

Is there any charge for using eMO!?

NO fee is required for downloading or using this application. eMO! is a free service from EBSI for both clients and non-clients

Can I still use password to login after enabling Biometric Login?

Yes. You can disable Biometric Login and choose to login with password to your account.

What is the optimal system requirement for eMO!?

iOS versions: OS 6 to 8.x.
Android versions : 2.2.x, 2.3.x or 4.2.x
Note: System incompatibility with eMO! may occur due to the different user interface and proprietary system design of various mobile devices, or if third party applications are installed. eMO! may not function properly on devices without security controls (known as jailbroken or rooted). The following is our supported handset list:

Is the Biometric Login secure?

Biometric Login leverages Apple’s Touch ID/Face ID technology to authenticate your identity to access your EBSI account. Neither eMO! nor EBSI stores your biometric information during the authentication process. To prevent unauthorized third parties from enabling Biometric Login, you will have to enter a One-Time PIN which is sent to your registered mobile phone number during the activation process. You may refer to Apple’s website about Touch ID and Face IDfor details.

What account information can I access after logging in eMO!?

After logging in, you will be able to access your relevant account summary, portfolio holding, trade history, price alert and action form, etc.

Will there be any delay to my orders?

This will depend on your geographical location and the coverage of your telecommunication services provider.

Will my biometric information be collected by EBSI?

No. EBSI will not collect any data of your biometric information. The data is used only by the system to verify whether your data matches the registered biometric information on your device.

What kind of trading service does eMO! support?

eMO! supports the trading of Hong Kong shares, US shares and warrants as well as currency switching right now.

Will all the biometric information stored in my device be able to access to my EBSI account?

Yes. Any biometric information registered for Touch ID/Face ID in your device can be used to login to eMO!. You are strongly recommended not to enable Biometric Login if you have stored other people's fingerprints in your device.

When will I be logged out of my account?

eMO! has a built-in security mechanism which will automatically log out of your account if it is being left idle for 15 minutes or more. Simply login again to resume using the application

Can I modify the orders I have placed with eMO!?

With eMO!, you can amend or cancel an order if the order has not yet been completed. However, as any trading system has its inherent constraints, there is no guarantee that you can do so.

What can I do if I lost my Biometric-enabled device?

If you have lost your device, please contact us to disabe Biometric Login immediately.

After logging into eMO!, can I switch to another application and then return to the service?

When you have logged into eMO!, you can switch to another application or web page. The eMO! service will not be suspended until you manually log it off or it is left idle for 15 minutes or more

What types of orders are supported by eMO!?

Same as the web trading, eMO! supports Limit order, Enhanced Limit order, Special Limit order, At Auction Limit order, Good Till Date order and Market order.

What is Trading Password?

The Trading Password is a password that you need to enter when you confirm an order or instruction. For better online protection, we recommend using different passwords for trading and logging in.

Do I need to input the trading password every time I place an order?

1. If clients choose to enable trading password function, trading password must be input at least once within a login session. If clients choose the "Bypass trading password for current session", trading password is not required again within a login session. 2. If clients choose to disable trading password function, trading password is not required.

Can I place orders through eMO! during the extended trading hours?

Yes, the trading hours of eMO! are same as the market

Can I view the status of my orders via eMO!?

Yes, you can view the following orders in your account via eMO!: any open orders, orders that have expired or were canceled during the day, and historical information for the period of the last trading day up to its past 30 days

Does eMO! support dual tranche, dual counter (DTDC) trading permitted by The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited?

Yes, it does.

Can I use eMO! at any time?

Yes, you can use eMO! 24 hours a day, except during EBSI's regular maintenance period.

How many real time quotes are provided by eMO!?

Clients can enjoy unlimited real time quotes.

Is streaming real-time quote service available at eMO!?

No, streaming real-time quote service is not available at eMO!. However, if you have subscribed for the streaming real-time quote service, you will be able to enjoy unlimited use of snapshot real-time quotes via a separate mobile app of eMO(AAStocks)!

  • iOS 11.0 or above
  • Above devices with Face ID enabled and fingerprint registered
